VidSys and Vidient Team For Real-Time Situation Analysis

VidSys and Vidient Team Up to Provide Real-Time Analysis and Management of Security Situations

Vidient SmartCatch and VidSys' Situation Management Platform Enable Faster Response to Security Incidents

VIENNA, Va. ─ Dec. 4, 2007 ─ VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM), today announced a partnership with Vidient Systems Inc., a leading developer of video analytics and behavior recognition solutions.  By integrating Vidient's advanced video surveillance and analytics system with VidSys' integrated physical security situation management platform, customers achieve better situational awareness and improved incident response.

Vidient's SmartCatch® video surveillance software is based on patented video algorithms designed to recognize and analyze complex human behaviors, identify objects and provide actionable, real-time alerts.  The VidSys VidShieldTM software combines these alerts and data with input from other physical security and video surveillance devices, including sensors, cameras and access control systems, to give customers a real time analysis of the overall situation and the tools to help manage it.

"Before you can manage a security situation, you need to understand it.  Video is by far the most useful tool for understanding and analyzing a situation," said Brooks McChesney, founder and chief client development executive of Vidient Systems, Inc.  "To be most effective, you need a smart video surveillance system that identifies objects and tracks their actions integrated with the rest of your security infrastructure - providing timely information and increasing your ability to respond appropriatelyBy partnering with VidSys, we help our customers maximize their technology investments and rapidly obtain critical security insight required to make informed security decisions."

The two companies are working together to help customers capitalize on IP convergence and improve their security effectiveness.  Both VidShield and SmartCatch were designed for seamless integration with an organization's existing physical security network, providing customers a way to leverage existing technologies and improve security operations by providing better means for collecting and analyzing all the information as it streams into the operations center.

"To make the shift from simply reacting to security events once they've occurred to instituting a proactive situation management stance, today's innovative security operations centers are increasingly investing in integrated physical and IT security systems," explained VidSys CEO Chuck Teubner.  "Vidient and VidSys together address the need to bring intelligence to an organization's security and surveillance network to head off situations before they become emergencies, saving time, money and potentially even lives."

As part of the agreement, Vidient has joined the VidSys Interoperability Partner (VIP) program, created to ensure customers receive benefits from their best-of-breed technologies without assuming the traditional infrastructure burden.  To learn more about the VidSys VIP Program, please visit http://www.vidsys.com/partners/vip_program.html.
