Chuck Teubner, Chairman & CEO
Chuck brings significant experience in the security and government market sectors to VidSys. Most recently, he was Chairman and CEO of e-Security, a Security Event Management software company in Vienna, VA. In less than two years Chuck and his team moved e-Security to the technology leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for the SEM space; completed major contracts with Microsoft, MasterCard, Fidelity, Northrop Grumman, Kaiser Permanente, Health Care Services Corp., Safeway, 7-11, Homeland Security, Navy Computer Incident Response Team; expanded the use of their technology beyond security into the compliance space; and successfully sold the company to Novell this past April for $72 million. Previously, Chuck held positions as President and COO of Groove Networks which was sold to Microsoft. In addition, Chuck served as COO of USinternetworking, the first ASP, based in Annapolis, MD, that achieved a $4 billion market cap at the height of the technology bubble in 2000, and as Senior Vice President of North American Sales for Sybase driving revenues to $550 million in 1995. Recently, Chuck was named chairman of the SkyBitz board of directors. SkyBitz is the leading satellite-based asset tracking and information management service provider. Mr. Teubner holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Central Michigan University.
David Bartolini, VP Engineering
David Bartolini brings over 14 years of senior leadership experience in the networking and software industries. He recently served as VP of Engineering at Invento Networks, Lucent Technologies, and Springtide Networks. He also served as software and network management director at Chipcom Corporation and 3Com Corporation via the acquisition of Chipcom. Mr. Bartolini graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science degree.
James I. Chong, VP and CTO
James Chong is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer for VidSys, Inc. and presently serves as a technical visionary and innovator for emerging technology applications with focus on physical and converged security initiatives. His professional credentials include his role as the primary inventor and architect of a unique interactive multimedia video communications platform currently being utilized in some of the largest and most sophisticated command and control centers around the U.S. including Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Baltimore. As a recognized subject matter expert in CCTV and AVIT applications for multiple market segments, Mr. Chong led the formation of VidSys, Inc. after over 10 years of serving as the Director of Integrated Communications Division at DTS where he successfully implemented key regional video security and surveillance management programs. His highly-specialized product-driven strategy with focus on specific market segments led to the development of three industry-leading video software applications called VidShield, Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), and VidPhone. Mr. Chong graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) with Bachelor of Science degrees in two engineering disciplines and double minors in Mathematics and Engineering Science & Mechanics (ESM). He is actively involved in knowledge exchange and has contributed to industry through seminars and speaking engagements for subjects related to intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and video security.
Alfredo Perez , VP Sales
Prior to joining VidSys, Perez served as vice president of sales at IPIX Corporation where he managed the sales team selling surveillance solutions to Fortune 500 companies and the federal government. Prior to that, he served as regional vice president of sales for McData Corporation where he managed the sales team selling over $45M annually of SAN solutions to Fortune 500 companies. He has also held sales and business development positions at Convio, Selectica, Sterling Software and BMC Software. Perez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Catholic University of America.
David Fowler, Senior VP Marketing & Development
Mr. Fowler is a veteran of the software industry, with over 30 years of industry and senior management experience in marketing, product management and development, business development, and sales. His most recent role was as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Pragmatech software. Prior to Pragmatech, he was EVP of marketing, products, channels sales, and business development for Groove Networks which was acquired by Microsoft. Prior to Groove Mr. Fowler was President of Kana Software, a company that resulted from the merger of Silknet and Kana Software. At Silknet Mr. Fowler helped take the company through 400% growth in a year and a resulting successful IPO and merger. In addition, Mr. Fowler has held executive and general management roles at various industry-leading companies such as Sun Microsystems, FTP Software, Chipcom, Wang Labs and Gradient Technologies. Mr. Fowler has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences on technology topics (security, CRM, networking and collaboration) as well as sales, marketing effectiveness, and has been published and quoted in a variety of business and technology publications. He holds an MBA from New York University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has been an advisor and board member to a number of early stage companies.
John F. Bruno, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Bruno has over 20 years of experience and expertise directing the strategic operational and financial aspects of high-technology companies. Prior to joining VidSys, Mr. Bruno most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Appfluent Technologies, a leading provider of enterprise business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse management software. Prior to Appfluent, Mr. Bruno served as the Vice-President of Finance for Access Spectrum, LLC, a private wireless telecommunications provider. Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Ericsson IP Infrastructure. Prior to that, Mr. Bruno served as Vice-President of Finance for Torrent Networking Technologies, Inc., an innovative internet communications company, where he played a key roll in building the company, raising capital and negotiating its ultimate sale to Ericsson for $450M. Mr. Bruno has devoted his 20+ -year career to helping small companies build strong financial infrastructures and providing the financial guidance necessary for emerging companies to manage rapid growth. Developing business strategies, raising capital, negotiating contracts, managing expenses, and safeguarding corporate assets through the establishment of strong financial systems and controls are critical skills that Mr. Bruno has applied in small and emerging businesses. Mr. Bruno is a Certified Public Accountant and spent the early part of his career in public accounting. He holds a bachelors degree in Accounting from West Virginia University and a Master in Business Administration from George Mason University.
Eric Sansonetti, VP Channels and Business Development
Eric Sansonetti brings to VidSys more than 20 years of experience in the software industry. A hands-on senior executive adept at company and team building, he has worked for organizations ranging from start-ups to established industry leaders. A skilled sales executive, Eric has created and executed all varieties of sales models, including direct, OEM, & indirect channels -- both domestically and internationally. He is widely credited with establishing Sybase's indirect channel at a critical juncture in the company's history, as well as turning around the company's Canadian division. As the Managing Director for Sybase Canada, he returned the group to profitability and within the first 12 months under his leadership, increased sales 300%. Within a five-year period, he built a team of 65 people with direct and indirect sales of $87M. Since leaving Sybase, Eric has worked almost exclusively for start-up companies. As the VP of Sales at Marathon Technologies, he guided sales from the first customer to secure the company's position as the leader in the assured availability WinTel platform market, and a place on Software Magazine's "Top 500" list. At Virtual Access Networks, he developed and built the sales organization, and helped position the firm to be acquired by Symantec. Sansonetti was previously VP, Worldwide Channels and Market Alliances, at Groove Networks. Eric was also a Partner at Venator Partners, where he recruited both domestic and international senior executives for venture backed early stage and start up technology companies. While he was at Venator, the firm grew by more than 300%. Eric holds a BS in Business Management from Johns Hopkins University.
