Fourth Annual Awards Honor Technology Innovation in New England
VIENNA, Va. and MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - June 11, 2007
--VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information
Management (PSIM) solutions for safety, security, commercial,
surveillance, military and transportation organizations, today
announced that its VidShield PSIM platform was awarded an Overall
Solution Impact Award at the 2007 MITX Technology Awards. The MITX
Technology Awards, presented by the Massachusetts Innovation &
Technology Exchange, recognize innovative technologies developed in the
New England area, as well as the individuals and organizations
responsible for driving these advancements. Honorees for this year’s awards were announced on June 5 in a ceremony at The Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.
“We
have been extremely impressed with the breadth and quality of the
nominations this year. They show incredible innovation across a variety
of sectors and highlight the vitality of our local technology community,” said Kiki Mills, executive director of MITX. “As
we continue to enjoy a surge in technology investments in New England,
we are proud to showcase the contributions our community is making to
global technology development.”
VidShield
is an open architecture PSIM platform that enables organizations to
deploy an entire network of physical and virtual security and
surveillance technologies and integrate them into a single seamless
solution. It integrates, manages and correlates massive amounts of data
collected from any video source, as well as any detection, monitoring
or control system, and features a hybrid architecture that utilizes
both analog and digital technologies. Users can manage their entire
surveillance network from a single console without the need to
understand the underlying technology, enabling them to coordinate swift
response to critical situations. According to 4A International, the
PSIM market potential is estimated to be approximately $10 billion by
2012.
“This is an
exciting time for VidSys as we tackle security convergence challenges
faced by executives and operations center personnel looking for
effective platforms that integrate information from multiple systems to
better secure and manage their assets, and do so more efficiently and
cost effectively,” said Chuck Teubner, CEO of VidSys. “As
we continue to pioneer the PSIM market, we are honored to have our
VidShield PSIM platform recognized by the MITX judges as an innovative
solution that has made a significant impact in the technology and
business communities.”
