VIDSYS NAMES ALFREDO PEREZ VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES

Seasoned Executive to Further Establish Company’s Dominance in the Physical Security Information Management Market

VIENNA, Va. and MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - April 17, 2007 - VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solutions for safety, security, surveillance, military and transportation organizations, today announced it has appointed Alfredo Perez as vice president of sales.  With more than 20 years of sales and management experience with high technology companies, Perez will be responsible for further establishing and sustaining VidSys’ dominance in the PSIM market.

“VidSys is at an important stage as it delivers a market-dominant platform to new customers and identifies strategic growth opportunities,” explained Perez.  “Joining VidSys enables me to play a significant role in a rapidly growing company as it pioneers the emerging PSIM space.”

In this role, Perez will spearhead sales initiatives for VidSys’ flagship product, VidShield™.  VidShield is a robust PSIM platform that supports the convergence of video management for security and surveillance applications with incident and event management.  VidShield integrates multiple, often siloed products and systems, including various video protocols and formats, into a single seamless management platform.  He will also be responsible for driving sales through the company’s significant reseller channel and partner program including the VidSys Interoperability Partner (VIP) program.  Launched in November 2006, the VIP program enables customers to select products from any vendor within the program, and seamlessly integrate all of the technologies through the open architecture of VidShield.

“Alfredo is a seasoned sales executive with a proven ability to develop innovative sales strategies, exceed revenue goals and contribute to a dynamic company culture,” said Chuck Teubner, CEO of VidSys.  “He brings years of highly relevant industry experience and is familiar with emerging trends in the security market, particularly as physical and IT security converge, creating new opportunities for VidSys to expand its footprint in the PSIM market.”

Prior to joining VidSys, Perez served as vice president of sales at IPIX Corporation where he managed the sales team selling surveillance solutions to Fortune 500 companies and the federal government.  Prior to that, he served as regional vice president of sales for McData Corporation where he managed the sales team selling more than $45M annually of SAN solutions to Fortune 500 companies.  He has also held sales and business development positions at Convio, Selectica, Sterling Software and BMC Software.  Perez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Catholic University of America.
