VIDSYS DEMONSTRATES NEWEST RELEASE OF VIDSHIELDTM AND RISKSHIELDTM PSIM APPLICATIONS FOR SITUATION MANAGEMENT AT ISC WEST
Enhanced underlying Open PSIM PlatformTM provides extended library of plug and play security devices, an enhanced rules engine and a driver kit for users to add new devices
VIENNA, Va. ─ April 1, 2008 ─ VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software for Situation Management, today announced the newest release of its PSIM applications, RiskShield and VidShield, to help companies respond to and manage real time emergency situations quickly. The applications can be viewed in VidSys' booth (number 34033) at ISC West in Las Vegas.
RiskShield provides new situation management and auditing capabilities, enabling security personnel to intelligently sort through large volumes of incoming security information and identify the relevant information for prioritizing and managing emergency situations. In addition, it helps accelerate the resolution of situations by managing the coordination with other team members and providing an action list with a set of automated and manual steps to follow.
The new release of VidShield enhances its popular Virtual Tracker and Back Tracker functionality to more effectively track suspects -- in real time and historically -- across multiple, multi-vendor cameras and NVRs. The software also adds support for 3D "fly through" mapping that allows operators to identify problem areas from an aerial view and then fly into the camera views.
The new releases are built on the award-winning VidSys Open PSIM PlatformTM, an open architecture software platform that integrates security information from any device or system -- sensors, alarms, video, analytics, access control -- applies rules and policies to identify critical situations, and presents the information to applications, such as RiskShield and VidShield, that can help the operators verify and manage the situation.
"Situation assessment and management is not just about reacting to alarms and alerts. It's applying intelligence to the flood of information and determining what is causing the alarms and then giving personnel the tools they need to accurately and swiftly respond," explained VidSys senior vice president David Fowler. "It's about managing the problem, not the symptoms. Equally important, a good PSIM solution helps personnel spend their time managing the situation not the technology."
VidSys' Open PSIM Platform extends the proven benefits of RiskShield and VidShield to include:
Support for a broad range of security devices including alarms, access control, video equipment, sensors and security systems through the use of standard protocols and open software development kits
- An integrated and sophisticated physical security information analytics engine to enable user configured filtering and correlation of events and alarms
- Inclusion of a Geographic Engine for two and three-dimensional mapping of city, street and building maps, providing users a unique perspective for first responders and operations center personnel
"All things being equal, organizations want a system that will properly elevate a breaking situation and provide all relevant information including live and recorded video, alarms, and other alerts - folding in new pertinent information in real time as it becomes available," said Steve Hunt, CEO of Hunt Business Intelligence. "VidSys has not only built a solution for managing situations in real time, but has built it on a platform that integrates devices and systems from multiple vendors with a unique information correlation capability."
