VIDSYS JOINS PHYSICAL SECURITY INTEROPERABILITY ALLIANCE'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Senior Vice President Adds Security and Software Expertise to Organization Dedicated to Promoting the Interoperability of IP-Enabled Security Devices

Vienna, Va. - July 14, 2009 ─ VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software that allows organizations to resolve business and security situations in real time, today announced that David Fowler of VidSys  has joined the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance's (PSIA) Board of Directors.  A veteran of the software industry with more than 30 years of experience, Fowler will help lead PSIA efforts in delivering on its mission to define, recommend and promote standards for IP-enabled security.

"VidSys joined the PSIA because of its mission to tackle the interoperability challenges that the physical security industry deals with daily," explained Fowler.  "As a board member, I look forward to helping establish the critical security standards needed, especially as the industry continues to evolve, new technologies continue to emerge and threats continue to appear."

The PSIA was conceived in February 2008, with the objective of promoting the interoperability of IP enabled security devices, and the creation and promotion of broad industry adoption of specifications that provide interchangeability and ease of use of physical security products to the benefit of the end user.  Participating companies include leaders in the security camera, video management software, access control, and system integrator segments of the market.

"Dave's dedication to driving the creation and growth of the PSIM market in his role at VidSys illustrates his ability to make an impact," said David Bunzel, executive director of the PSIA.  "Dave's market knowledge and ability to manage technical projects make him an asset to any organization and we are thrilled to have Dave join our Board of Directors as we work to develop physical security standards."

At VidSys, Fowler serves as senior vice president where he drives all marketing and product development efforts.  He also spearheads the ongoing efforts in growing awareness of the PSIM technology category that marries physical security device management with the automation and reasoning capabilities of computing.  Prior to joining VidSys, he held senior management roles at Pragmatech, Groove Networks (acquired by Microsoft), Kana Software, Silknet and other high-tech companies.
