VIDSYS RECEIVES MOTOMESH™ READY VALIDATION FOR ITS PHYSICAL SECURITY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLATFORM
VidShield
Supports the Integration of Mobile Video Sharing Applications Across
Broadband Networks to Improve Situational Awareness and Public Safety
BALTIMORE - APCO International’s 73rd Annual Conference & Exposition (booth #2117) - August 6, 2007-VidSys,
the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM)
solutions for safety, security, commercial, surveillance, military and
transportation organizations, today announced its VidShield™ platform
is MOTOMESH™ Ready. This validation attests that VidShield has
demonstrated its ability to integrate applications across the Motorola
MOTOMESH wireless broadband network to support better situational
awareness and decision making for public safety and transportation
environments.
Motorola’s mesh
networking technology enables users to wirelessly access critical
broadband applications and offers First Responders secure connectivity
to video. VidShield, a robust PSIM platform that supports the
convergence of video management for security and surveillance
applications with incident and event management, easily integrates
video feeds into operations centers’ existing communications
infrastructure and correlates real-time events with security policies
to enable critical information sharing between centralized fusion
centers and mobile First Responders for more effective collaboration,
escalation and notification.
“Having
real-time access to security video through Motorola’s wireless
broadband networks and being able to immediately visualize, analyze and
respond to events via these networks are important steps toward better
decision making and ensuring public safety,” said Rick Clarkson, vice
president of product management, VidSys. “The VidShield PSIM platform
was built specifically to support this type of sophisticated technology
and policy integration to better correlate events, automate responses
and improve the management of security incidents.”
The
technology infrastructure in today’s safety and transportation
management centers is increasingly complex with multiple disparate
camera and video management systems, and multiple GUIs for monitoring
and control. This complexity can lead to a lack of real-time
situational awareness for mobile responders, putting public safety at
risk. The VidSys PSIM platform integrates multiple, often siloed
products and systems, including various video protocols and formats,
into a single seamless management platform. True situational awareness
is made possible by the MOTOMESH Ready VidShield platform through:
- Integrated Wired and Wireless Video Infrastructures: VidShield
allows video interoperability between the operations center and mobile
wireless clients by functioning as a video surveillance gateway
providing real-time information sharing between First Responders.
- Hybrid Analog and Digital Surveillance Management: VidShield
integrates multi-vendor, multi-format security and surveillance
management technologies in one platform and supports analog to digital
migration.
VidSys
will be demonstrating VidShield and its MOTOMESH Ready capabilities in
the Motorola booth #2117 at APCO International’s 73rd Annual Conference
& Exposition taking place August 5-9, 2007 at the Baltimore
Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Additionally, VidSys CTO
James Chong will be presenting a conference session, “The Three A’s of
Public Safety,” on Tuesday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. APCO International
is the world’s largest organization dedicated to public safety
communications. For more information about APCO and its annual
conference, visit http://www.apco2007.org.
