VIDSYS PREVIEWS VIDSHIELD 4.0 PHYSICAL SECURITY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLATFORM AT ISC WEST
New PSIM
Platform Features Dynamic Web-Based User Interface and Ease-of-Use
Benefits for Improved Collaboration and Event Management
LAS VEGAS - March 28, 2007- Booth #31003 -
VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information
Management (PSIM) solutions for safety, security, surveillance,
military and transportation organizations, today announced it will
preview VidShield 4.0 at ISC West 2007 (booth #31003). With a dynamic
Web-based user interface and improved ease-of-use features, the newest
version of the company’s PSIM platform will enable security personnel
in operations centers to more efficiently manage events, while
improving situational awareness and policy implementation.
Supporting
the convergence of video management for security and surveillance
applications with incident and event management, PSIM solutions like
VidShield 4.0 integrate multiple, often siloed products and systems,
including various video protocols and formats, into a single seamless
management platform. The integrated platform captures and correlates
real-time events from multiple systems, allowing more effective
collaboration, escalation and notification by integrating with existing
communications infrastructure.
VidShield 4.0 Improves Security Event Management and an Organization’s Ability to Respond Effectively
With this newest version of VidShield, security personnel in operations
centers will benefit from a centralized, intuitive and visually
appealing solution that improves collaboration and event management and
further supports the convergence of physical and IT security assets.
VidShield 4.0 highlights include:
- Dynamic, Web-Based User Interface: An
intuitive user interface provides a single view of multiple security
feeds and tools that can incorporate analog and digital video in live
or recorded formats. Users can also invoke tools that enable video
drag and drop, event escalation, video wall management, desktop sharing
and live chat. A new thin client provides better remote management and
the ability to push data to other devices, such as mobile phones.
- Dynamic Visualization and Improved Data Representation:
VidShield 4.0 provides active data representation and the ability to
graphically track and display information, including sensor and
positional data. The new user interface can incorporate Geographical
Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS) and
Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies to actively track
vehicles, personnel, containers and other assets. Camera
representation also allows users to display and select devices based on
location, trouble spots or availability.
- Comprehensive Event Management:
New event capture capabilities provide a wider aperture for event
management, enabling security personnel to capture and analyze
incidents that may have happened hours apart. VidShield 4.0 will
feature a new rules engine that can easily generate use cases to enable
security systems to quickly identify new threats and improve
organization’s effectiveness. Additionally, the new modular server
architecture scales to manage a virtually unlimited number of events.
Sophisticated rules capabilities enable better correlation between
events, while helping to automate escalation processes.
The
new user interface and ease-of-use features support important new
visualization and event correlation capabilities, giving users the
ability to detect events and take action based on specific business
policies. VidShield 4.0 provides the best solution for integrating
security technologies, correlating events and automating responses to
dramatically improve the management of security incidents. Consider
various locations in a Mass Transit System that are monitored for
abnormal behavior, including turnstile jumping, crowd gathering and
lurkers. VidShield 4.0 helps the System capture and apply rules to
these potential security “events” in order to classify them properly
and ensure rapid, appropriate action. For example, if “slip and fall”
and “restricted area violation” events are triggered, the System’s
operations personnel can use VidShield 4.0 to capture the events, apply
rules to the event data and code them accordingly. Then based on the
procedure and policy database in VidShield 4.0, they can use the
built-in collaboration interface to have appropriate personnel
dispatched – multiple police offers to the restricted area violation,
and police and EMS to the slip and fall.
“VidShield
4.0 represents our next major milestone in terms of empowering VidSys
customers with the tools they need to make their operations center more
efficient, responsive and proactive,” said VidSys CEO Chuck Teubner.
“Increasingly, VidSys is the partner of choice for companies that are
looking to leverage existing technologies, but need a platform that not
only supports the integration of physical and logical assets, but also
gives them a better view into the correlation between security events
and links those events to security policy.”
VidSys
executives will be previewing VidShield 4.0 at booth #31003 at ISC
West. For organizations that would like to participate in the
VidShield 4.0 beta program, please contact Rick Clarkson
(clarksonr@vidsys.com). General availability will be in Q2 2007.
Additional ISC West Highlights
On Wednesday, March 28 at 11 a.m., VidSys CTO James Chong will be
presenting “The Three A’s to Public Safety: Awareness, Assessment and
Action.” His session will address the complexity within today’s
command center and its impact on latency in the quality and rapidity of
response. This session will inform command center professionals of the
three A’s to keeping the public safe - Awareness, Assessment and Action
- and the importance of integrating the various data inputs that exist
in today’s command centers with these three essential key elements.
