Executives to Participate in Multiple Sessions that Address How PSIM Enables Organizations to Resolve Situations in Real Time

VIENNA, VA ─ May 9, 2012 ─ VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software that allows organizations to resolve business and security situations in real time, today announced details of its participation at IFSEC International 2012, taking place May 14-17 in Birmingham, UK. In addition to showcasing the latest enhancements to its PSIM software system and previewing findings to its first annual UK Safety and Security Survey, VidSys executives will be participating in two presentations at the event:

  •  “PSIM: Past, Present and Future”
(Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 1:15 – 2:15 p.m., Next Generation CCTV & Surveillance , Hall 5) – James Chong, founder, chief technology officer and senior vice president, strategic innovation, of VidSys, will discuss the evolution of the PSIM market, including where it is today and how it will evolve over the next several years. Highlighting common hurdles and lessons learned from organizations that have leveraged the technology to improve situation management, Chong will arm attendees with a clearer understanding of how this technology can help public and private organizations increase safety and security.
  •  “All You Need to Know About PSIM”
(Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., IFSEC Centre Stage, Hall 5) – James Whybrow, director, Europe & Africa, at VidSys will join other industry experts from CornerStone and Harper Morgan on a panel moderated by Roy Cooper, managing director, Professional Security, to provide first-hand perspectives on PSIM technology. Panelists will discuss how to distinguish real PSIM solutions from the ‘PSIM-lite’ solutions, what to consider when implementing PSIM technology, and the variety of operational, technological and financial benefits PSIM technology can offer any public or private organization.

“Organizations looking for a way to empower their security personnel to make faster and smarter decisions in an emergency situation are increasingly turning to PSIM software to help them,” said Chong. “We are excited to have the opportunity to meet with security leaders from throughout the UK to share the latest trends, developments and applications of PSIM technology.”

In addition to its two presentations, VidSys will be on the show floor in the Sony booth (Hall 4 Stand J10). Visitors will be able to see a product demo of the VidSys PSIM software, including new features to its ground-breaking mobile application and enhancements to its graphical user interface for system and device manipulation. For example, with the mobile application, first responders can now add real-time field information to an ongoing safety and security situation display, providing command center operators with a greater understanding of and improved visibility into how the situation is unfolding. Additionally, visitors can see how the VidSys PSIM software integrates with Sony’s video technology, enabling true enterprise-wide situational awareness that streamlines identification and response to real-time situations.

Along with product demonstrations, IFSEC attendees that swing by the booth can get an exclusive preview into the results from VidSys’ first annual UK Safety and Security Survey. Composed of feedback from senior level IT and physical security professionals, the survey is designed to provide insight into the security concerns and buying patterns of private organizations and public agencies.
