Vidsys to Speak at Secured Cities 2012 on Improving Situation Management

Vienna, VA ─ October 10, 2012VidSys, a leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, today announced details of its participation at Secured Cities 2012, taking place in Philadelphia today and tomorrow. James Chong of VidSys and John Recesso of Sony will facilitate an interactive workshop on “Linking Disparate Technologies and Surveillance Systems to Improve Situation Management.”

Who:                   James Chong, Founder, CTO and SVP of strategic innovation, VidSys
John Recesso, strategic business development manager, Sony

What:                  Traditionally, security solutions within a city are managed by individual departments and agencies that are not interconnected and do not provide comprehensive views of all secured areas. These disconnected systems, with no complete view of a situation, lack the ability to facilitate smooth operations and ensure the safety and security of people and assets, making overarching security a difficult task at best.

During this interactive workshop, Chong and Recesso will discuss topics such as migration, integration and interoperability, and PSIM as well as how major cities in the U.S. have improved interagency collaboration and communication with an integrated solution.  Attendees will learn about the technologies and concepts needed to improve situation awareness, surveillance operations, inter-agency collaboration and situation management.

When:                  Wednesday, October 10 from 4:30 – 5:20 p.m. ET

Where:                Philadelphia Convention Center, First Level, Room: 109B.
